What are the AION 2 dungeon boss names?
AION 2 has four confirmed dungeons, and they come from NCSOFT rather than from a datamine: Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple and Draupnir. Each is tagged Expedition and BOSS and described as a dungeon for up to 5 players on NCSOFT’s official global teaser site. This page quotes that copy word for word, and marks everything the copy does not answer as unannounced.
Which AION 2 dungeons has NCSOFT confirmed?
Four: Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple and Draupnir. NCSOFT’s official global teaser site tags each one Expedition and BOSS and prints the same party line on all four, a dungeon for up to 5 players. The descriptions below are quoted word for word from that page, checked on September 22, 2026.
| Dungeon | Official tags | Official description (quoted word for word) |
|---|---|---|
| Krao Cave | Expedition, BOSS | [Dungeon for up to 5 players] Krao Cave, once used as a laboratory by the Lepharists. Deep within the cave, Berk, a combat-type experimental subject and a relic of a forgotten war, lay sealed away. However, the greed of treasure-seeking tomb raiders reopened the cave, awakening a catastrophe along with its long-dormant security systems. |
| Urugugu Canyon | Expedition, BOSS | [Dungeon for up to 5 players] Urugugu Canyon, a divine realm hidden deep within the Forest of Torbas. In the deepest reaches of this sanctuary, guarded for ages by the Aullaeu tribe, the legendary divine bird Auldor has finally awakened. A sacred Guardian, soaring through the skies above the canyon, awaits those who seek this place. |
| Fire Temple | Expedition, BOSS | [Dungeon for up to 5 players] Deep within the caves where lava pulses, lies the Fire Temple, built by the gods. Beyond the traps and the Watchers lies the whisper of a mirror with a will of its own. The shadow of desire that consumed Kromede now claims the hearts of those who step within. |
| Draupnir | Expedition, BOSS | [Dungeon for up to 5 players] An unknown Abyss that has swallowed the Draupnir Caves. Having encountered an otherworldly power within that Abyss, Transcendent Bakarma has surpassed the natural order of the Elyos, Asmodians, and Balaur. No longer a mere Dragon High Commander, he emerges as something entirely new. |
Those four paragraphs carry more official detail than any other public AION 2 source we can point at, so the names inside them are worth separating from the framing. Every entry below is a proper noun NCSOFT itself printed, not an inference.
| Official name | What the copy calls it | Appears in |
|---|---|---|
| Berk | A combat-type experimental subject, a relic of a forgotten war, sealed away | Krao Cave |
| Auldor | The legendary divine bird, described as a sacred Guardian | Urugugu Canyon |
| Kromede | The figure consumed by the shadow of desire | Fire Temple |
| Transcendent Bakarma | A former Dragon High Commander who surpassed the natural order | Draupnir |
| Watchers | The guardians standing beyond the Fire Temple traps | Fire Temple |
| Lepharists | The group that once used Krao Cave as a laboratory | Krao Cave |
| Aullaeu tribe | The tribe that guarded the Urugugu Canyon sanctuary for ages | Urugugu Canyon |
| Elyos, Asmodians | The two playable factions whose natural order Bakarma surpassed | Draupnir |
| Balaur | Named as a third power alongside the Elyos and the Asmodians | Draupnir |
| Forest of Torbas | The region hiding the Urugugu Canyon sanctuary | Urugugu Canyon |
| Draupnir Caves | The caves swallowed by an unknown Abyss | Draupnir |
One conflict has to be stated rather than smoothed over, because two official NCSOFT sources describe party size differently. We are not merging them into one number, and we are not picking a winner before the client exists.
| Official source | Party-size wording | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| NCSOFT’s official global teaser site | [Dungeon for up to 5 players], printed on all four dungeon entries | September 22, 2026 |
| NCSOFT press release, June 5, 2026 | solo and four-player dungeons to eight-player raids | September 22, 2026 |
What the copy still does not answer: the complete dungeon list, which of the four open first, level and gear gates, entry limits, loot tables, and every boss mechanic. Those stay unannounced on this page until the global build is live. Korean and Taiwanese footage shows a different service, which the Global vs KR/TW comparison covers.
What else does the official teaser copy confirm?
Two things beyond the dungeon list. The Draupnir entry names the Balaur as a third power alongside the Elyos and the Asmodians, the clearest faction framing in official global copy. The same site also describes pets transforming into rideable mounts while providing auto-looting.
The faction line is published as a heading: Tale of Two Worlds — Experience the tale of the Elyos and Asmodians. Read it literally. The two playable factions remain the Elyos and the Asmodians, and the campaign is sold as their story; the Balaur appear in the Draupnir copy as a power Bakarma surpassed, with nothing official saying they are selectable. Anything stronger than that is somebody’s inference.
The pet description is the other new detail, and it is a systems claim rather than flavour text: Collect lovable companions that follow you around and transforms into rideable mounts and can provide benefits such as auto-looting. Quoted as published, that describes two functions beyond cosmetics — a mount form and automatic loot pickup. Whether either applies inside the four dungeons above is not stated, and mounts are normally restricted in instanced content, so test it in game rather than assuming.
What endgame content does AION 2 have?
AION 2 confirms solo dungeons, party dungeons, the Abyss PvPvE region, the rift invasion system, and structured PvP from 1v1 and 4v4 arenas to cross-server RvR. Four party dungeons now carry official names and descriptions, while the wider dungeon list, the release order, and the reward structure behind all of it remain unannounced.
| Content type | Team required | What it is | Official detail published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo dungeon | No — played alone | Instanced PvE built to be cleared without a group | Exists. Names, count, levels: not announced |
| Party dungeon (Expedition) | Yes — up to 5 players per the teaser site | Instanced PvE that assumes a role-based group | Four named: Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, Draupnir |
| Abyss | Yes — contested open region | Persistent PvPvE territory where the playable factions fight over objectives | Exists. One Abyss named in copy: the one that swallowed the Draupnir Caves. Layout, objectives, rewards: not announced |
| Rifts | Varies by incursion | Cross-region invasion paths that open a route into opposing territory | Exists. Schedule and rules: not announced |
| 1v1 PvP | No | Duel-format arena combat | Exists. Ranking and rewards: not announced |
| 4v4 PvP | Yes — small team | Small-group arena combat | Exists. Map pool: not announced |
| Cross-server RvR | Yes — realm-scale | Realm-vs-realm battles across servers | Confirmed in NC’s global copy. Format details: not announced |
Read that last column as the honest state of things. Every row is a confirmed system, and most rows are still missing the specifics a normal guide would report. Even for the four named dungeons we have narrative and a party tag, not numbers. That gap is not something we can close by inference — the global build is its own service, so the Global vs KR/TW comparison matters more here than in most games.
What is the Abyss in AION 2?
The Abyss is the series signature open PvPvE region, where the Elyos of the Light and the Asmodians of the Dark contest territory in the same space where players run PvE content. It is confirmed for the global launch, and the Draupnir copy adds one concrete official fact: an unknown Abyss has swallowed the Draupnir Caves.
The practical consequence is unchanged: in the Abyss, PvE and PvP share a map. You can be attacked while working on an objective, which rewards groups over solo players and attention over zoning out. The Draupnir paragraph also suggests the Abyss is not a single fixed zone but something that can open inside existing regions, since it swallowed a named cave system rather than standing beside it. That is a reading of one sentence, not a confirmed structure.
What we cannot tell you yet is anything mechanical: which objectives exist, how the region is laid out, whether it is one zone or several, or how rewards are distributed. Those details are not published, and we will not reproduce a datamined guess as if it were confirmed.
How do rifts change where you can go?
Rifts are a series-tradition mechanic that opens a temporary passage from your faction territory into enemy territory, turning a safe map into a contested one. AION 2 confirms the system exists. When rifts open, how long they last, and who may use them are not announced.
The consequence for planning is simple: treat open-world PvE routes as conditionally safe rather than permanently safe. If rifts work as they have in previous AION titles, a farming route you learn in week one can become a PvP encounter in week three — which is also why zone choice will matter more than it does in MMOs where PvE and PvP are fully separated. Nothing about the global rift schedule has been published, so that is a launch-week observation to record, not a claim to repeat.
What PvP modes are confirmed?
NC’s global copy names 1v1 and 4v4 arenas, and massive-scale cross-server RvR battles. Those are the confirmed formats. An 8v8 bracket circulates widely, but it traces to third-party coverage of NC’s own reveal rather than to NC’s published global materials, so treat it as reported rather than confirmed.
The map pool, ranking system, seasonal structure and rewards have not been announced, so nobody can yet tell you which format feeds which progression track.
| Format | Team size | What it tests |
|---|---|---|
| 1v1 | Solo | Your own class tools and matchup knowledge, with no one to cover a mistake |
| 4v4 | Small team | Coordination inside a small group, where each role absence is obvious |
| Cross-server RvR | Realm-scale | Coordinated realm warfare where individual role coverage matters less than group discipline |
Team size is the only variable we can reason about before launch: a small format magnifies individual mistakes, while a larger format depends on the group covering tank, healer and support roles inside one team. Whether those formats share a reward track, a ranking ladder, or a season that resets on a fixed cycle is unknown. We will confirm it in game rather than guess, and the same discipline applies to class selection, where roles describe the kit and no performance ranking exists yet.
How do flight and gliding affect dungeons and PvP?
Flight and gliding are confirmed systems, and they change positioning in any space that allows them — vertical approaches, escapes, and re-engagement. Whether flight is permitted inside the four confirmed dungeons has not been announced, so do not build a route or a boss plan around it.
Two things are safe to say. First, in open contested regions, a group that can move vertically has options a grounded group does not, so learning the flight controls early is worth the time. Second, flight rules are frequently content-specific in this series: a mechanic that is freely available in an open zone may be restricted or unavailable inside an instance. Until the global client is live, the honest answer to can I fly in dungeons is that nobody outside Asia knows, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.
What is the AION 2 dungeon release schedule?
Not announced. Four dungeons have official names and descriptions, but NCSOFT has not published the full launch dungeon list, a wing or tier structure, or a rollout order for the global service. MMORPGs usually stage endgame content after launch, so expect this list to grow — but treat any specific schedule you read now as unverified.
The dates that are confirmed are the launch dates themselves: Advance Access for Founder’s Pack owners begins September 30, 2026, and the free-to-play opening is October 5, 2026 on Steam and the NCSOFT PURPLE launcher. The release date and launch time page tracks those milestones, the Advance Access guide covers who gets in early, and the server list and regions page covers where you will play. What happens to the endgame list after October 5 is something we will record as it appears, not predict in advance.
What group composition should you plan for?
Plan a five-slot roster and then plan by role. The official teaser site labels all four confirmed dungeons for up to 5 players, while the June 5 press release describes solo and four-player dungeons and eight-player raids. The two official wordings disagree, so build a group that works at either size rather than assuming one.
| Role | Global classes | What the group expects from you |
|---|---|---|
| Tank | Templar, Gladiator | Hold the pull and decide where the fight happens |
| Healer | Cleric | Keep the group standing through the pressure points |
| Support | Chanter | Amplify the group and cover timing windows |
| Melee damage | Assassin, Gladiator | Apply pressure up close and stay in position |
| Ranged damage | Ranger, Sorcerer | Fight from range and manage your own space |
| Summoner | Spiritmaster | Add a controlled second body to the group output and utility |
If you are forming a fixed group before launch, cover tank and healer first — those are the two slots a group cannot improvise around, and they are also the roles that fill fastest in most group instances. Then decide what the fifth slot does once the client shows the real cap. The classes overview lists every confirmed global class by role and weapon, and it is the right place to start if you have not picked one yet.
What will change on this page after October 5?
Everything specific. Once the global build is live we replace each unannounced row with tested detail: which of the four dungeons open first, level and gear gates, entry limits, boss mechanics, and the release order we can actually observe — each stamped with the date it was checked.
| Field | Status now | After October 5, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Dungeon names and count | Four named: Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, Draupnir. Full list not announced | Completed from the live client |
| Dungeon descriptions | Official narrative copy, quoted above | Kept, with the systems behind each name verified |
| Level and gear requirements | Not announced | Tested per dungeon |
| Party size per instance | Conflicting official wording: up to 5 players vs four-player dungeons | Confirmed in game |
| Release order and dates | Not announced | Observed as it happens |
| Boss mechanics | Named bosses, no mechanics published | Written from cleared runs |
| Loot tables | Not announced | Recorded from runs |
| Abyss objectives and rewards | Not announced | Confirmed in the zone |
| Rift timing and rules | Not announced | Observed and dated |
The commitment behind that table is simpler than it looks: nothing on this page gets upgraded from not announced to a specific claim unless we have seen it in the global build, and every update carries the date it was verified. If a fifth dungeon name surfaces through a datamine before launch, it stays out of the confirmed column until the live client shows it.
Sources and verification
The four dungeon names, their Expedition and BOSS tags, the party-size line, the named bosses, the Tale of Two Worlds heading and the pet description all come from NCSOFT’s official global teaser site, read directly on September 22, 2026. Nothing beyond that copy is filled in here.
- NCSOFT’s official global teaser site, aion2.ncsoft.jp/en — the four Expedition and BOSS dungeons with their verbatim descriptions, the dungeon for up to 5 players line on all four, the named units Berk, Auldor, Kromede, Transcendent Bakarma, Watchers, Lepharists and the Aullaeu tribe, the place names Forest of Torbas and Draupnir Caves, the Balaur reference, the Tale of Two Worlds heading, and the pet description covering rideable mounts and auto-looting (checked September 22, 2026)
- NCSOFT press release, June 5, 2026 — the solo and four-player dungeons to eight-player raids wording, listed separately because it does not match the teaser party line
- NCSOFT press materials and the official global site, aion2.plaync.com (launch date, platforms, confirmed content systems)
- Steam store page, AppID 3393110 (free-to-play launch, Advance Access window)
- NCSOFT gamescom Opening Night Live announcement, August 25, 2026 (October 5, 2026 launch date)
- Series precedent from earlier AION titles is labelled as precedent wherever it appears, not as AION 2 confirmation
Evidence level: Official / Global for the four dungeon names, their descriptions, the named units, the Balaur reference, the Tale of Two Worlds heading and the pet description, all read from NCSOFT’s official global teaser site on September 22, 2026. Official but conflicting for party size, where the teaser site says up to 5 players and the June 5, 2026 press release says solo and four-player dungeons to eight-player raids; both are quoted and neither is merged. No boss health, drop rate, mechanic or completion value appears on this page, because none is published and the global build is not playable before October 5, 2026.
