FAQ

Is AION 2 on GeForce NOW?
No. Checked on October 6, 2026, AION 2 is not listed in the GeForce NOW catalog, even though the global service has been live since 13:00 UTC on October 5, 2026. NCSOFT has enabled the GeForce NOW opt-in on the Steam side, which is the publisher's half of the arrangement, but NVIDIA still has to add the game to its list and has published no date for doing it.
How much would playing AION 2 on GeForce NOW cost?
The game itself would cost nothing, because AION 2 is free to play on Steam with no purchase required. The only cost would be the GeForce NOW membership. NVIDIA sells a Free tier plus paid Performance and Ultimate tiers and a 24-hour Day Pass, and its FAQ states that Performance and Ultimate members get 100 hours of playtime per month with up to 15 unused hours rolling over. Exact prices are shown at checkout on NVIDIA's memberships page and vary by region.
Can I play AION 2 on GeForce NOW without buying the game?
Once it is added, yes. GeForce NOW streams games you already own in a linked store library, and AION 2 is a free Steam title, so owning it costs nothing. You add AION 2 to your Steam library, link Steam to GeForce NOW, and press Play. This is moot today, because the game is not in the catalog to launch.
How do I play AION 2 if my PC is not good enough?
Steam Remote Play Anywhere. You run AION 2 on a machine that meets the official requirements and stream that running game to a weaker PC, laptop, or handheld over the internet. It is a free Steam feature, but it needs a capable host machine somewhere, and it streams the picture rather than replacing your graphics card.
Is there a free trial of AION 2?
There is no time-limited demo. AION 2 is free to play from October 5, 2026 onward, with no box price on Steam or the PURPLE launcher and no trial clock. What does have a clock is GeForce NOW itself: its Free tier caps individual sessions at roughly an hour, its paid tiers carry a 100-hour monthly allowance, and a Day Pass lasts 24 consecutive hours.
How do I check whether AION 2 has been added to GeForce NOW?
Search for AION 2 inside the GeForce NOW app or on NVIDIA's GeForce NOW games page. If it is there, the Steam version is what streams, so add AION 2 to your Steam library first. NVIDIA also publishes a games list on its own blog ahead of each weekly Thursday update, and AION 2 was absent from the 25-game October post published on October 1, 2026.

No — as of October 6, 2026, AION 2 is not in the GeForce NOW catalog, roughly thirteen hours after the global service opened at 13:00 UTC on October 5. The game is live and free on Steam and the PURPLE launcher, and NCSOFT has already enabled the GeForce NOW opt-in on the Steam side of the store listing. What is missing is the other half: NVIDIA has not put AION 2 in its own list, and has published no date for doing it. The free to play page covers what a free account gets, and the server status page covers what is happening on the servers themselves.

Is AION 2 on GeForce NOW? The catalog check for October 6, 2026

Three separate checks, all run on October 6, 2026, all pointing the same way:

Source What it says Checked
NVIDIA’s own October games post 25 games joining GeForce NOW through October, six of them playable the week of Oct 1 — AION 2 is not named anywhere in it Oct 6, 2026
Two independent cloud-gaming databases GeForce NOW: Unavailable. Both record that the publisher opt-in is enabled on Steam but the game is not yet in the catalog Oct 6, 2026
r/GeForceNOW launch-day thread Players report a GeForce NOW marker appearing on the Steam side; NVIDIA itself has said only that it is working with NCSOFT Oct 5, 2026

The distinction in that table is the whole answer. Since NVIDIA’s 2020 opt-in policy, a publisher has to say yes before a game can be streamed, and then NVIDIA does the catalog work itself. NCSOFT has done its half. Until NVIDIA adds the title, searching the GeForce NOW app for AION 2 returns nothing, and no subscription tier will change that.

What the Steam-side opt-in means, and what it does not

It means the door is unlocked from NC’s side. It does not mean the game is on the service. NCSOFT enabled GeForce NOW for the Steam version of AION 2, which is a permission flag on the store listing rather than a catalog entry. The same flag is what makes THRONE AND LIBERTY, NC’s other open-world MMO, streamable today.

It also settles which build you would get. It is the Steam version that streams, so AION 2 needs to be in your Steam library — it is free, so ownership costs nothing. A Founder’s Pack bought on Steam travels with it; one bought on PURPLE stays on the PURPLE launcher and does not become a Steam license. The preload and download guide covers the difference between the two launchers.

What GeForce NOW streaming would cost you

The game is free, so the only cost is the membership. NVIDIA sells a Free tier plus paid Performance and Ultimate tiers, and a 24-hour Day Pass. Prices are set at checkout and vary by region, so read them on NVIDIA’s memberships page rather than trusting a figure quoted here.

What NVIDIA’s own FAQ does state, and what matters for an MMO: Performance and Ultimate members get 100 hours of playtime per month, with up to 15 unused hours rolling over. Beyond that you can buy more hours, or your session drops to a free-tier experience until the allowance resets. Founders members keep unlimited playtime. Free-tier sessions run about an hour, which is short enough that a raid night needs a paid tier or a Day Pass.

None of this applies to AION 2 today. It is the price you would pay the day NVIDIA adds it.

Your options if your PC cannot run AION 2

Right now, with no cloud catalog entry, streaming is not the answer. Your options are these four.

Steam Remote Play Anywhere is the one that works today, and it is free. Steam Remote Play does not run the game in the cloud — it streams the picture of a game already running on another machine, so you still need a host PC that clears the official PC system requirements: a Ryzen 5 2600 or i5-10500 with 8 GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti at minimum, and 100 GB free. A friend on a capable PC, a LAN host, or your own desktop streaming to a laptop or handheld all qualify. The catch is honest and worth saying out loud: it relocates the hardware requirement rather than removing it.

Lower your own settings is the second option, and NCSOFT’s sheet is unusually helpful here. Both official tiers are told to run full HD on a low preset — Very Low at the minimum row, Low at recommended. Nothing on the sheet promises a frame rate, so a machine between the rows or below the minimum row is worth testing rather than dismissing.

Shadow PC and similar cloud PCs rent you a whole Windows machine that installs and runs what you put on it. Two cloud databases checked on October 6, 2026 list AION 2 as playable there. One caveat worth naming: Shadow’s own incompatible-games list names Aion, the 2008 title, as a game whose anti-cheat will not run on a virtual machine, and does not name AION 2 — so confirm on your own account rather than assuming either way.

GeForce NOW, later. Worth keeping the Steam library clean and the membership page bookmarked.

Steam Deck and controller: what is actually confirmed

Nothing official. Valve has published no Steam Deck compatibility rating for AION 2 in any direction — not Verified, not Playable, not Unsupported — and the Steam listing flags the app as Windows-only with both macOS and Linux set to false. The controller support page carries the full picture: NCSOFT says AION 2 is playable with a controller, while full controller support across every menu is still being evaluated, and community reports that the Steam build runs under Proton are unverified for the global client.

Keep the two questions apart. A gamepad is an input question and belongs to the controller page; a cloud catalog is a distribution question and belongs here. A controller report from the Korean and Taiwanese service tells you nothing about whether NVIDIA has added the global build.

How to check the GeForce NOW catalog yourself

  1. Search AION 2 in the GeForce NOW app, or on NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW games page. If it appears, it streams.
  2. Check NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW blog. NVIDIA posts a games list ahead of each weekly Thursday update — the October post on October 1, 2026 named 25 games for the month and did not include AION 2.
  3. Confirm the Steam half. AION 2 should be free in your Steam library before you expect the cloud version to launch; if the opt-in is live but the catalog entry is not, you are waiting on NVIDIA.

Evidence level: Official for the catalog absence and the membership rules. The October catalog post and the GeForce NOW FAQ are NVIDIA’s own pages, and the Steam fields and launch timestamps come from Steam’s own endpoints, all read on October 6, 2026. The catalog status itself is corroborated by two independent third-party cloud-gaming databases that both carry live availability checks. The Steam Deck rating, the controller behaviour and the Proton reports remain unverified, which is why they are carried as open items rather than answers. No date for a GeForce NOW addition has been announced by NVIDIA, and none is estimated here.
