AION 2 Pre-Registration Rewards — Newsletter Pets Explained

AION 2 launches on October 5, 2026 as a free-to-play PC MMORPG, which means the only free pre-launch value on the table is the official newsletter grant. It is worth roughly five minutes of effort, and it is the reward most often misreported — so here is exactly what it is, how to get it, and where the reporting goes wrong.

Nothing on this page was re-confirmed against NCSOFT’s own channels on that date, so the older status stamps further down still stand as the dates they were checked.

What are the confirmed AION 2 newsletter rewards?

The Pagati pet, plus a choice of one pet from four options: Konutin Worker, Papis, Black Smoke Murute, or Silver Blade Rotan. Both are described as redeemable at launch. Signup is free, requires no purchase, and is open now at aion2.plaync.com.

Notice how short that list is. The confirmed grant is two pets. Claims that subscribers also receive currency, gear, or a mount are not supported by anything NCSOFT has published for the global service, and we are not repeating them. If NCSOFT expands the grant, this table gets a new row and the rewards tracking on the launch page gets updated with it.

One naming note, because it causes real confusion: Pagati is described in community discussion as both a pet and a mount. Only the companion-pet framing comes from NCSOFT’s own wording, so treat mount behaviour as unconfirmed until you can see it in game.

What does each confirmed reward actually do?

NCSOFT has confirmed the pet names but published no stats, skills, or rarity tiers for any of them, because the retail global build has not been playable outside Asia. What the official teaser site does confirm is what pets in general do: they follow you, transform into rideable mounts, and provide auto-looting. The table below separates names from mechanics.

With no verified numbers behind any of the five, the honest selection strategy is to choose on appearance and theme rather than power. Anyone ranking the four options into tiers before October 5 is working from KR/TW footage or pure invention — neither describes the global build you will actually play. What is still unknown about claiming the pets?

Subscribing is only half the process; the delivery half is entirely unannounced. NCSOFT has not said whether the pets arrive by in-game mail, by emailed coupon code, or by automatic account grant, and no claim deadline or multi-account rule exists either. The table below lists every open question with its current status.

The PURPLE launcher does have a Coupon / Redeem Code section in the KR/TW service, which suggests emailed codes are plausible — but that is regional reference material, not a global promise, so treat it as a hint about what to look for rather than a fact. If a code arrives, redeem it through official channels only; the communities page explains how scam servers and fake reward offers tend to circulate around launches like this one.

How do you sign up for the AION 2 newsletter?

Go to aion2.plaync.com, enter your email address, accept the terms, and confirm the verification message that arrives in your inbox. That is the entire process — there is no payment method, no Founder’s Pack, and no existing NC account required to qualify for the pets.

Two small things worth doing properly:

• Use an address you will still read in October. The reward is tied to your signup, and any redemption instructions will be sent there. A throwaway inbox is a good way to lose a pet on launch day.
• Subscribe before launch, not after. The campaign is a pre-launch one. Whether signups remain open after October 5 has not been announced, so there is no reason to gamble on it.

How do you actually claim the rewards?

NCSOFT has not announced the redemption method. The plausible routes — in-game mail, a coupon code sent by email, or an automatic account-based grant — are all unconfirmed, and the claim window has not been published either. Subscribing now is the only step you control.

That is a genuinely open question rather than a detail we skipped, and it is the same gap that surrounds the client itself: the preload and download schedule is also still unannounced. The practical approach is to subscribe now, keep the confirmation email, and check the official site when launch week begins. Your own record of the signup is the only part you control.

Is there a free AION 2 beta or playtest I can join before launch?

The free window already closed. NCSOFT ran one pre-launch test, the Launch Scale Test on September 17–18, 2026 — no invite code, no key, no purchase — and it ended on September 18. No second test has been announced. The only pre-launch access left is the paid Advance Access window, September 30 to October 4, from a Founder’s Pack.

Three windows sit between now and launch, and only one of them is still open to a new player.

Basis for that table: the Launch Scale Test row is corroborated on this site by the beta and open tests page and the playtest schedule page, both built on NCSOFT’s own Steam notices, and the other two rows are NCSOFT’s published Founder’s Pack and launch dates. No cell in that table is second-hand.

NCSOFT never called the LST a beta, an open beta or a stress test, which is why the word still sticks in search — the beta page maps every label players search for onto the one NCSOFT published, and the playtest page has both days in every timezone. Details that aggregators attach to that test — level cap, content scope, wipe policy — are not traceable to an NCSOFT source, so treat any of them as unverified.

One date in that story is single-sourced. As of 2026-09-30, aion2hub reports that the LST pre-download opened on September 16, with sign-ups taken on the official Steam page. That was the test client, not the launch client, so it does not change the launch preload picture, which NCSOFT has still not published in the preload and download guide.

None of this changes what the newsletter pays. The grant follows your signup, not your test entry and not your pack purchase — the same position the table in the Founder’s Pack section below takes — and the Advance Access guide covers what the paid five days actually change for a pack buyer.

Does wishlisting AION 2 on Steam give rewards?

No. Adding AION 2 to your Steam wishlist (AppID 3393110) only sends you a notification when the game becomes downloadable. It grants no pet, item, or currency, and it does not register you for the newsletter either. Wishlisting is a reminder, not a reward.

This is the single most common error in coverage of AION 2’s pre-launch rewards, and it is easy to see why: both actions are free, both are official, and both appear on the same store and brand pages. They do different jobs. Wishlisting is a notification service. The newsletter is the reward programme. Do both, but do not expect the wishlist to pay out.

Do the Founder’s Pack and newsletter rewards overlap?

No — they are independent, and they stack. The newsletter grant comes from NCSOFT’s mailing list and costs nothing. The Founder’s Pack is a paid product with its own contents and its own entitlement. It includes five days of Advance Access, September 30 to October 4, plus tier-specific cosmetics; all three tiers include that same window.

What changes during the 5-day Advance Access window?

A paid head start, not a reward, and nothing that changes the newsletter grant. The five days run September 30 to October 4, 2026 for Founder’s Pack buyers on every tier, and the pets still follow your signup. The server-side mechanics are thinner than the marketing suggests, and one part of them is contested.

The mechanics themselves are second-hand. As of 2026-09-30, aion2hub reports them from an NCSOFT notice titled “Early Access: How It Will Work” dated July 17, 2026, which we could not open.

We could not open that NCSOFT notice ourselves, and the last row is why the rest is not promoted to fact: our Advance Access guide states that the window runs on the live global servers with no temporary server retired at launch, which is a different picture from two server waves. Where the two disagree, treat the mechanics as reported until someone can open the client and check. What is not in doubt is the part that touches this page: the five days start September 30, every tier qualifies, the storefront you buy on is the one you play on, and the newsletter pets arrive on their own schedule rather than the pack’s. Do the Korean and Taiwanese pre-registration rewards apply?

No. The KR/TW pre-registration campaign ran ahead of that service’s November 19, 2025 launch and is over. Those rewards are region-specific, are not part of the global programme, and cannot be transferred to a global account opened in October 2026. The deeper point is that the global service is a separate build with fresh progression.

A global account starts from nothing regardless of what you owned in Korea or Taiwan, and that applies to account-level items as much as to characters. The global versus KR/TW differences page sets out what diverges; for this page the practical rule is simply that anything you read about KR/TW pre-registration bonuses describes a campaign you cannot join.

Can I play AION 2 before the October 5 launch?

Not officially. The global service has not opened, so the only client anyone can legitimately reach today is the Korean or Taiwanese one, and both are region-locked services separate from the October 5 global build. Treat that route as something that happens to exist rather than a supported way to play.

Only that second row is second-hand: the other three come from NCSOFT’s published dates. As of 2026-09-30, aion2hub describes the KR/TW route as needing a regional NCSOFT account and, in Korea, identity verification that is hard for foreigners to satisfy, and notes that bypassing official region restrictions can breach the game’s terms of service and risk action on the account. We do not recommend it and we are not going to publish a method for it.

If you want to be on the real build on launch day, the only free things left to do are the newsletter signup and the Steam wishlist.

What should you do before October 5?

1. Subscribe to the newsletter at aion2.plaync.com and keep the confirmation email.
2. Wishlist the game on Steam for the download notification — free, and useful even though it pays nothing.
3. Decide your pet choice among Konutin Worker, Papis, Black Smoke Murute, and Silver Blade Rotan. There is no verified global information on their stats or abilities, because the retail build has not been played outside Asia, so pick on appearance rather than chasing a tier list that cannot exist yet.
4. Check your machine against the PC system requirements so launch night is about playing, not troubleshooting.
5. Console players: settle the platform question early. The global release is PC only, through Steam and PURPLE, and no console date exists. The console release status page records what NCSOFT has actually said about hardware versions.
6. Decide your class and your character before launch night. All eight classes are open to both factions and NCSOFT advertises over 200 customization options, so the classes overview and the character creation guide are worth reading while you wait. Character pre-creation has not been announced, so this is planning, not a head start.
