AION 2 launches on October 5, 2026 as a free-to-play PC MMORPG, which means the only free pre-launch value on the table is the official newsletter grant. It is worth roughly five minutes of effort, and it is the reward most often misreported — so here is exactly what it is, how to get it, and where the reporting goes wrong.

What are the confirmed AION 2 newsletter rewards?

The Pagati pet, plus a choice of one pet from four options: Konutin Worker, Papis, Black Smoke Murute, or Silver Blade Rotan. Both are described as redeemable at launch. Signup is free, requires no purchase, and is open now at aion2.plaync.com.

Notice how short that list is. The confirmed grant is two pets. Claims that subscribers also receive currency, gear, or a mount are not supported by anything NCSOFT has published for the global service, and we are not repeating them. If NCSOFT expands the grant, this table gets a new row and the rewards tracking on the launch page gets updated with it.

One naming note, because it causes real confusion: Pagati is described in community discussion as both a pet and a mount. Only the companion-pet framing comes from NCSOFT’s own wording, so treat mount behaviour as unconfirmed until you can see it in game.

How do you sign up for the AION 2 newsletter?

Go to aion2.plaync.com, enter your email address, accept the terms, and confirm the verification message that arrives in your inbox. That is the entire process — there is no payment method, no Founder’s Pack, and no existing NC account required to qualify for the pets.

Two small things worth doing properly:

• Use an address you will still read in October. The reward is tied to your signup, and any redemption instructions will be sent there. A throwaway inbox is a good way to lose a pet on launch day.
• Subscribe before launch, not after. The campaign is a pre-launch one. Whether signups remain open after October 5 has not been announced, so there is no reason to gamble on it.

How do you actually claim the rewards?

NCSOFT has not announced the redemption method. The plausible routes — in-game mail, a coupon code sent by email, or an automatic account-based grant — are all unconfirmed, and the claim window has not been published either. Subscribing now is the only step you control.

That is a genuinely open question rather than a detail we skipped, and it is the same gap that surrounds the client itself: the preload and download schedule is also still unannounced. The practical approach is to subscribe now, keep the confirmation email, and check the official site when launch week begins. Your own record of the signup is the only part you control.

Does wishlisting AION 2 on Steam give rewards?

No. Adding AION 2 to your Steam wishlist (AppID 3393110) only sends you a notification when the game becomes downloadable. It grants no pet, item, or currency, and it does not register you for the newsletter either. Wishlisting is a reminder, not a reward.

This is the single most common error in coverage of AION 2’s pre-launch rewards, and it is easy to see why: both actions are free, both are official, and both appear on the same store and brand pages. They do different jobs. Wishlisting is a notification service. The newsletter is the reward programme. Do both, but do not expect the wishlist to pay out.

Do the Founder’s Pack and newsletter rewards overlap?

No — they are independent, and they stack. The newsletter grant comes from NCSOFT’s mailing list and costs nothing. The Founder’s Pack is a paid product with its own contents and its own entitlement. It includes five days of Advance Access, September 30 to October 4, plus tier-specific cosmetics; all three tiers include that same window.

Do the Korean and Taiwanese pre-registration rewards apply?

No. The KR/TW pre-registration campaign ran ahead of that service’s November 19, 2025 launch and is over. Those rewards are region-specific, are not part of the global programme, and cannot be transferred to a global account opened in October 2026. The deeper point is that the global service is a separate build with fresh progression.

A global account starts from nothing regardless of what you owned in Korea or Taiwan, and that applies to account-level items as much as to characters. What should you do before October 5?

1. Subscribe to the newsletter at aion2.plaync.com and keep the confirmation email.
2. Wishlist the game on Steam for the download notification — free, and useful even though it pays nothing.
3. Decide your pet choice among Konutin Worker, Papis, Black Smoke Murute, and Silver Blade Rotan. There is no verified global information on their stats or abilities, because the retail build has not been played outside Asia, so pick on appearance rather than chasing a tier list that cannot exist yet.
4. Check your machine against the PC system requirements so launch night is about playing, not troubleshooting.
