AION 2 Founder's Pack — Standard, Deluxe or Ultimate?

AION 2 is free to play at launch, so the Founder’s Packs are not a ticket to the game — they are a ticket to starting earlier, plus a bundle of extras. What changed in the last week is that the contents are no longer a mystery: NCSOFT’s official global teaser site lists every item in all three tiers, and the cheapest tier carries the most valuable line.

What is in each AION 2 Founder’s Pack?

The tiers are cumulative. Standard holds the 5-day advanced access window, a Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest, the Vanguard of Atreia title and a 30-day membership. Deluxe adds the Ascended Daeva skin set and the Eternal Sun weapon skin chest. Ultimate adds a styling chest, the Moonlit Aria skin set, a Black Dragon pet and Blazing Sun Wings.

The official pitch reads: Begin your AION 2 adventure 5-days early, get a 30-day membership and enjoy exciting skins and helpful items to assist you on your journey. The same page dates the sale window as July 22nd, 2026 – Until Further Notice.

The cumulative structure is not our reading of the table — it is how the official listing is written. Under the Deluxe entry the page prints +AION 2 Standard Founder’s Pack, and under the Ultimate entry it prints +AION 2 Deluxe Founder’s Pack. So Deluxe is Standard plus two items, and Ultimate is Deluxe plus four, which is why this page counts ten item rows rather than three separate bundles.

Two details matter more than the item count. First, every entry except the access window and the membership carries the Bound label, meaning these are locked to the account or character that receives them rather than tradeable goods; do not plan to sell them. Second, no tier lists armour, a weapon with stats, or any consumable described as power. Two of the entries are sealed chests whose contents the official list does not itemise, so we cannot rule out useful consumables inside them — but nothing published promises a combat advantage.

Is the 30-day membership in all three Founder’s Packs?

Yes, and it is the quiet headline. The official listing puts a 30-day membership in the Standard Founder’s Pack, and because the tiers are cumulative, Deluxe and Ultimate both inherit it. A month of membership is therefore the one benefit every price point shares, next to the five-day advanced access window.

Read the bottom four rows as the honest state of things. The pack tells you the duration and nothing else, so a buyer comparing tiers cannot yet compute what the membership is worth — only that all three tiers carry it equally.

How much is the 30-day membership worth?

Nobody can price it yet. NCSOFT has published no standalone monthly price for global AION 2, so the only hard number is the duration: 30 days. Community coverage of the Korean and Taiwanese service has quoted a monthly membership around $15, but no official global figure exists to check that against.

Two things are worth separating. The duration is official and identical across tiers, so membership is not a reason to upgrade — it cannot differentiate the packs. What membership actually gates is the open question, and it is the one that decides whether the line is worth a full monthly fee or almost nothing. In earlier AION services the paid tier has been associated with Market access and with converting Quna into Kina, so the realistic expectation is that membership touches the economy rather than character power.

Treat that as a hypothesis to test, not a fact. Nothing in official global material says which systems membership controls, and the 30 days cannot be valued honestly until the client shows what is locked behind it. Record it in the first week after October 5: open the Market, check the currency exchange, and note which prompts ask for membership. That observation is worth more than any pre-launch estimate.

How do the three tiers compare on price?

They differ in price and in the listed contents. They do not differ in access. All three Steam pages carry the same Advance Access line — Starts Sep 30 — and everyone else joins on October 5, 2026, when the game goes free to play.

Two things follow. First, the launch window is not a premium feature — it is the baseline every tier shares, so nobody pays for extra days. Second, the price gap now maps to named cosmetics rather than an opaque bundle: two items for the $25 step from Standard to Deluxe, four more for the $50 step from Deluxe to Ultimate. Judge those six cosmetics at face value, because nothing published assigns them a stat value.

Do you need to own AION 2 to buy a Founder’s Pack?

No, and on Steam the bundle carries the game with it. AppID 4972180 is listed as a DLC whose base game is the free AION 2 client, and each tier page states: Includes 2 items — AION 2 and AION 2 FOUNDER’S PACK. So a pack purchase is not blocked behind a separate game purchase.

The practical reading is that the pack is an add-on to a free product, which is exactly what the store metadata says: a DLC with a free base game. Anyone expecting a paid client to unlock alongside the pack will not find one, and anyone worried that skipping the pack means skipping the game can stop worrying.

Do all three tiers include the same Advance Access?

Yes, and two official sources now say it in different words. Every one of the three Steam tier pages displays the identical line, Advance Access — Starts Sep 30, while the teaser site lists 5-Day Advanced Access inside the Standard pack. No tier starts earlier, no tier is excluded, and no tier pays extra for the early window.

The two spellings describe the same five days, counting backwards from the October 5 launch, so neither contradicts the other. What matters for a buyer is that the window sits in the entry tier, which you can verify yourself on each product page before paying. The consequence for anyone shopping on access alone has not changed: the cheapest pack is a complete way to play early, and it now also carries the only recurring-value item in the set, the 30-day membership. Which Founder’s Pack should you buy?

If the head start and the membership are what you want, buy the Standard Founder’s Pack. Access is identical across the three tiers and the 30-day membership sits in the cheapest one, so the extra $25 or $75 buys named cosmetics rather than days or account benefits.

One honest caveat sits behind all of this. The retail global build has not been broadly playable, so no class rankings, drop tables, or balance verdicts exist to justify spending for power — and nothing in the official item list claims any. A separate AION 2 Playtest app (AppID 4972320) appeared on Steam on August 26, 2026, so limited playtest access has existed, but no verified performance or balance data has been published from it. Buying a pack is buying time, cosmetics and a month of membership, not an advantage anyone can currently quantify.

Can you upgrade, downgrade, or refund a Founder’s Pack?

Not announced. As of September 22, 2026, NCSOFT has published no refund policy, no tier upgrade path, and no downgrade option for the Founder’s Packs. Treat the tier you buy as the tier you keep, and treat changing it as unsupported.

There is one platform wrinkle, and the Steam metadata sharpens it. The pack is sold there as a DLC attached to a free base game, which makes a Steam purchase a transaction with Steam rather than a direct purchase from NCSOFT; we have not verified any AION 2-specific exception to Steam’s own store terms. A PURPLE purchase runs through NCSOFT’s own store, and no separate terms for it have been published. Because packs are also platform-locked, buying on one storefront and moving later is not an announced option either. Check the store page you are actually buying from before you commit.

Is a Founder’s Pack worth it if the game is free?

It is worth it if you value five early days and a month of membership at more than $24.99, and it is not worth it if you are buying to avoid falling permanently behind. The global service launches as a fresh start for everyone, so the September 30 head start is a head start rather than a wall.

The case for buying is now slightly stronger than it was when only the price was known. A player in on September 30 can hold a desirable name, supply the earliest crafters, and arrive on October 5 with a month of membership already running. The case against is unchanged: the game costs nothing on October 5, the global build inherits no progression from the Korean and Taiwanese service that has run since November 19, 2025, and five days is a small slice of an MMORPG lifespan. Which storefront should you buy from?

Whichever launcher you intend to play through, because the pack is platform-locked. A Steam purchase unlocks Advance Access through Steam, and a PURPLE purchase unlocks it through the NCSOFT launcher. No transfer path between the two has been announced, so this choice is effectively permanent.

On October 5 the lock stops mattering for access, because the game is free on both clients. It still matters for where your bundled items live, and it now matters more than before: ten listed items per top tier, all of them Bound and all of them delivered to the storefront account that bought them.
