AION 2 world bosses and field bosses are the same thing — large named bosses living on the open-world map rather than inside an instance — and they split into two timer models. The seven fixed bosses in Chaotic Lower Reshanta run on an appointed server-time schedule: Watcher Kaira every 3 hours from 01:00, the three Executors at 21:30 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday right after the 21:00 Artifact Siege, and Guardian Lord Nahma at 21:00 on Friday and Sunday. Everything in Verteron and Altgard respawns on rolling timers reported at roughly 1.5 to 4 hours, and the in-game map prints every one of those countdowns for you.

When do the Reshanta world bosses spawn?
Seven field boss entries in Chaotic Lower Reshanta run on fixed clock schedules, and every tracker that publishes them agrees on the day pattern. All times below are server time as the game displays them, checked October 10, 2026 against three community trackers.
| Boss | Schedule (server time) | Spawn area |
|---|---|---|
| Watcher Kaira | Every day, every 3 hours from 01:00 | Lower Reshanta — trackers list Black Fragments Area (Abandoned Island); one describes the exact spot as random |
| Artifact Siege (event) | Monday, Thursday, Saturday · 21:00 | Chaotic Lower Reshanta — the winning faction gains access to the Abyss Corridor |
| Executor Tamasa | Monday, Thursday, Saturday · 21:30 | Reshanta’s Root |
| Executor Argo | Monday, Thursday, Saturday · 21:30 | Archipelago of Siel’s Wings — Siel’s Heart |
| Executor Kaira | Monday, Thursday, Saturday · 21:30 | Sulfur Tree Island — Branding Island |
| Executioner Dramos, Turncoat Ducal, Ravager Marakha | Spawn after the Artifact Siege window | Middle Reshanta |
| Guardian Lord Nahma (and Enraged variant) | Friday, Sunday · 21:00 | Multiple points across Lower and Middle Reshanta: Reshanta’s Root, Shade Island, Lonely Island |
The 30-minute gap between the Artifact Siege at 21:00 and the Executors at 21:30 is consistent across all three trackers, as is the Friday/Sunday slot for Guardian Lord Nahma. One caveat has to be stated rather than smoothed over: questlog.gg publishes the same events with a “server time (UTC)” label at 12:00 and 12:30, while wikily.gg and gamers4.life both show 21:00 and 21:30. The days, the ordering and the 30-minute offset agree; only the clock label differs, so read the final number off the in-game map tab for your own server instead of converting any table on trust.
Watcher Kaira is the volume boss of the set — eight spawns a day at three-hour intervals from 01:00 — while the Executors and Guardian Lord Nahma are twice-a-week events you plan a play session around. Community databases list all of these Chaotic Lower Reshanta bosses at level 65, which is above the level 45 cap reported for the global launch; treat that level figure as tracker data that needs an in-game check, not as a gate you can plan around.
How often do open-world field bosses respawn?
Outside Reshanta, field bosses respawn on rolling timers reported at roughly 1.5 to 4 hours, not on fixed clock times. That is the figure for the bulk of the roster; the largest bosses take considerably longer, with High Commander Lagta named as an example of the slow ones.
The roster itself is bigger than most players expect. One community wiki counts 56 field boss entries across three zones, and only the seven Reshanta entries above run on fixed schedules — the rest are rolling.
| Zone | Field boss entries | Levels listed | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chaotic Lower Reshanta | 8 (7 on fixed schedules) | 65 | Contested Abyss space |
| Verteron | 24 | 45, plus 48–51 entries | Elyos-side territory |
| Altgard | 24 | 45, plus 48–51 entries | Asmodian-side territory |
That 24-per-zone structure lines up with launch coverage describing 24 field bosses in the Korean service with faction-held variants: Verteron and Altgard are the two factions’ own territories, and the same-named bosses appear on both sides. High Commander Lagta, Soul Ruler Kashapa and Silent Dartan each exist as a Verteron entry and an Altgard entry at level 48, and the Gartua pair splits the same way — Eternal Gartua in Verteron, Immortal Gartua in Altgard, both at level 51. The practical consequence: you cannot camp another faction’s field boss route, because your side’s copy spawns in your side’s zones. Our Elyos vs Asmodians page covers how that faction split shapes the opening route.

Where do you see boss timers in game?
Open the map, switch to the Exploration / field boss tab, and every boss entry shows its remaining time and its reward list. Boss markers on the map carry a skull icon you can click for the same information. This is not a third-party feature: community update coverage demonstrates the map timer directly, and players pointing others to timers in game describe exactly this path — click the skull icon where a boss spawns, or open the map and go to the field bosses list.
Because the in-game tab exists, external trackers are a convenience rather than a requirement. They add two things the map does not do for you: converting server time into your own timezone, and a weekly day-by-day grid of the Reshanta events. If you use one, use it for planning and confirm in the map before you travel — that also settles the clock-label disagreement described above.
Timers also matter for a second reason: world boss health pools melt fast when a crowd shows up, so the practical skill is arriving before the spawn rather than during the fight. Get a tag on the boss early, because a boss that dies in under a minute pays nothing to players who showed up late.
How does world boss loot work?
Reported rules say drop chance scales with the damage you deal, and the kill pays out through a loot chest containing gear, artwork pieces and materials. NCSOFT has not published an official loot rule, so treat every line in this section as community-reported behaviour rather than a guarantee.
- Damage scales your odds. Coverage of the global Season 1 build states that drop chance rises with damage dealt, which is why players form parties or forces instead of soloing, and why arriving late is nearly worthless.
- Random groups do not honour loot agreements. The same coverage warns that loot agreements in pickup groups are unenforceable — clearer rules or private groups are the safer bet for anything valuable.
- The showcase drop is gear. Gartua is repeatedly named as the field boss worth farming for gold-grade gear at 70 item level plus a rare painting, with High Commander Lagta, Soul Ruler Kashapa and Silent Dartan cited as the other open-world targets worth grinding when they are up. Other field bosses also drop gold gear, just not at that item level.
- Paintings and materials feed other systems. Paintings completed from field boss artwork scraps can be placed in the Pantheon for permanent character stats, and boss gear has a second life: supply requests pay Abyss Points for turning in boss equipment, while gear you do not keep can convert to skins or Kina. The gear progression guide maps where that equipment sits once you have it.
- Selling the valuable drops needs a membership. Market access is reported as membership-gated, so a field boss payout you intend to sell runs through the same subscription question our free-to-play page works through.
Abyss field bosses — the ones contested in the open PvPvE region — are reported to yield a unique Proof of Hero item used in substance morphing, per community video coverage; the Abyss guide records the official framing of that space, where NCSOFT’s own copy describes the faction war as contested over field bosses, artifacts and Abyss Points. On the loot-distribution question itself — highest damage, last hit, or everyone who tagged — players are still asking it in open threads, which is the clearest signal that no official rule has been published. Do not build a farming plan on a distribution rule you cannot find stated by NCSOFT.
How do you reach each boss in time?
The loop is: watch the map tab, position before the spawn, anchor your respawn point, and move with a group. Field bosses have no queue and no entry ticket, so everything is about being physically there when the timer hits zero.
- Read the timer in the map’s field boss tab and convert it to your own clock only if you are using an external tracker — the map already counts down for your server.
- Plant a Kibelisk near the spawn before the fight. A Kibelisk you place becomes your respawn point, so a death during the contest drops you back at the boss instead of at a distant obelisk. One community wiki pairs each of its 56 field boss entries with the nearest Kibelisk for exactly this reason.
- Group up early. Since loot scales with damage, solo arrivals are mostly spectating. Players report finding groups through faction chat call-outs; you can also open your own party.
- Use the Spacetime Rift hour for the contested copies. Rifts drop you on the opposite faction’s map, and the field bosses there are part of the standard rift checklist — their gear drops convert to skins or Kina. The Spacetime Rift guide covers the portal windows, the entry window and the survival rules.
- Check the day grid for the event bosses. Executors and Guardian Lord Nahma are twice-a-week appointments; Watcher Kaira is available daily, so it is the one to build a routine around.
World bosses themselves need no entry resource — unlike dungeons, which run on the reported Odyle Energy entry model; the dungeon entry and Odyle Energy page explains that system, and the dungeon list tracks the four named instances. If you are deciding where world boss farming sits against dungeon running in a play session, the split is simple: dungeons are a capped, energy-budgeted loop, world bosses are an open map you can drop into any time a timer lands.
What is still unconfirmed?
Everything NCSOFT has not printed stays unconfirmed here, and that includes most of the numbers players ask about.
| Question | Status |
|---|---|
| Official world boss schedule from NCSOFT | Not published — all tables on this page come from community trackers, checked October 10, 2026 |
| Clock label conflict (21:00 server vs 12:00 UTC) | Unresolved between trackers — day pattern agrees, clock labels do not; the in-game map settles it |
| Loot distribution rule (damage, last hit, or all participants) | Unconfirmed — damage-scaled odds are reported, no official rule exists |
| Fixed spawn point vs random spawn for Watcher Kaira | Trackers disagree — one lists a fixed island, another says random within Lower Reshanta |
| Level 65 listing for Reshanta bosses | Tracker data — conflicts with the level 45 cap reported for the global launch; verify in game |
| Exact respawn intervals for individual Verteron / Altgard bosses | Not individually published — only the reported 1.5–4 hour range for most, longer for the largest |
| Whether the global schedule matches the Korean/Taiwan service | Unconfirmed — the global build is its own service, which our global vs KR/TW comparison explains |
The commitment behind that table is the same one the rest of this site runs on: nothing gets upgraded from unconfirmed to a specific claim until it is seen in the global build, and every update carries the date it was verified.

No figure on this page comes from NCSOFT — the company has not published a world boss schedule — so every schedule row is community-tracker data read on October 10, 2026, and the loot section is competitor/creator coverage labelled as reported.
- wikily.gg, field boss spawn times and field boss roster pages (read October 10, 2026, community tracker) — the fixed Reshanta schedule at 21:00 / 21:30 server time, Watcher Kaira every 3 hours from 01:00, the day grid, the 56-entry roster with 7 fixed-schedule entries, the 24 + 24 zone split, the level listings, and the nearest-Kibelisk pairing

- gamers4.life, World Boss Timers (read October 10, 2026, community tracker, spawn data described by the site as datamined from game files) — Executors Monday/Thursday/Saturday 21:30 server, Guardian Lord Nahma Friday/Sunday 21:00 server, Watcher Kaira 180-minute respawn
- mmoexp.com, Aion 2 Global Season 1 PvE Guide (September 16, 2026, competitor coverage) — field bosses as open-world monsters with reported 1.5-to-4-hour respawns, High Commander Lagta called out as slower, the in-game map’s field boss tab, damage-scaled drop chance, party/force play, loot-agreement warning, membership-gated market, painting and Pantheon stats, and the Executioner kill-title report
- Community video coverage, Best Field Bosses to Farm and world boss guides (watched October 10, 2026, creator reporting) — the map timer demonstration, the skull icon, the loot chest payout with artwork pieces, Gartua’s 70 item-level gold gear and rare painting, the Lagta / Kashapa / Dartan farm shortlist, faction chat grouping, and the Proof of Hero drop from Abyss bosses used in substance morphing
- r/Aion2 threads on world boss timers and loot (read October 10, 2026, player reports) — timers listed in game via the skull icon and map field boss list, and the still-open question of how loot distribution is decided
- NCSOFT press materials via our own Abyss guide and PvP page (official) — the Abyss described as contested over field bosses, artifacts and Abyss Points; this is the only official claim about field bosses used on this page
- Series and service framing from our global vs KR/TW comparison — the global build is a separate service from Korea/Taiwan, so regional tracker data is never presented here as a global guarantee
Evidence level: community tracker and competitor reporting throughout — no world boss schedule, spawn interval, loot rule or drop rate on this page is an NCSOFT statement. The day pattern of the Reshanta schedule is corroborated by three independent trackers; the clock labels are not, and that conflict is printed rather than hidden. Every table above should be re-checked against the in-game map tab after any patch, and this page will be updated with the date of that check.
