FAQ

When does the AION 2 Trick or Treat event start and end?
After the scheduled maintenance on October 13, 2026 (Tuesday) PDT, until before the scheduled maintenance on November 3, 2026 (Tuesday) PST. The European line in the same notice reads October 14 (CEST) to November 4 (CET), which is the same window expressed in central European time. The event opens only after maintenance completes, so the maintenance window itself is not playable event time.
How many Halloween Pumpkin Coins can I get from attendance?
620 coins if you claim all 14 days. Days 1–6 and 8–13 pay 35 coins each (12 days x 35 = 420), and days 7 and 14 pay 100 each (200). Attendance rewards can be claimed once per server and reset daily at 12:00 AM PDT, which the notice also states as 9:00 AM CEST.
How many coins do the weekly event missions pay?
235 coins per weekly reset: five dungeon and PvP missions at 25 each (Abyss, Transcendence, Expedition, Ascension Trial, Nightmare), 30 for logging in three times, and 20 each for obtaining one Unique gear piece, using five scrolls, joining Dimensional Invasion and joining Shugo Festival. Every mission is limited to once per week per server.
Where is the Halloween Coin Merchant?
Elyos find the merchant in Verteron at Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village. Asmodians find it in Altgard at Safe Haven and Nornir Assembly. The notice says a Coin Merchant NPC is added to each town and lists those four locations, so check both spots in your faction's starting region if the first one is empty.
What is the best thing to buy with Halloween Pumpkin Coins?
The Special Halloween Chest at 250 coins is the only unique reward: it contains the Spooky Scary Skeleton breastplate skin and 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals, is limited to one per server, and requires level 10. After that, Odyle Energy at 10 coins (four per server per week, level 45) is the most useful repeat purchase for progression.
Do Halloween event items expire?
Yes. Halloween Candy, Halloween Cookie, Candy Key Fragments and the three Candy Keys are deleted on November 3, 2026 at 11:00 PM PST (November 4, 8:00 AM CET). The Special Halloween Chest, Resurrection Spiritstones, Instant Clear Tickets, Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Tickets, Shugo Festival Reward Keys and Odyle Energy bought from the merchant are deleted on December 15, 2026 at 11:00 PM PST (December 16, 8:00 AM CET).

AION 2’s Trick or Treat event runs from the October 13, 2026 maintenance to the November 3 maintenance. Log in daily and clear weekly missions for Halloween Pumpkin Coins, then buy a skeleton skin, Odyle Energy and consumables at the Coin Merchant.

That is the whole loop, and it takes about ten minutes a day plus whatever dungeons you were already running. The rest of this page is the official notice unpacked: the real schedule (which is not the October 16 date some event calendars show), the full coin math, every merchant price, and the two different deletion dates that decide what you should buy first.

When does the Trick or Treat event run?

After the scheduled maintenance on October 13, 2026 (Tuesday) PDT, until before the scheduled maintenance on November 3, 2026 (Tuesday) PST. The notice prints the European equivalent on the same line: after the October 14 (CEST) maintenance until before the November 4 (CET) maintenance. Those are the same two maintenance boundaries, not a longer European event.

Region Start End
North America (PDT/PST) After the Oct 13, 2026 maintenance Before the Nov 3, 2026 maintenance
Central Europe (CEST/CET) After the Oct 14, 2026 maintenance Before the Nov 4, 2026 maintenance

Date check: the official Event Schedule says October 13, not October 16. Some event listings use October 16, probably because that is the first Friday of the window or because a regional maintenance landed later, but the notice itself is unambiguous. Use October 13 and treat the first day as a partial day: the event cannot start before maintenance ends.

The end is also a maintenance boundary, not a clock time. If your server’s November 3 maintenance runs long, the event does not extend to compensate — spend coins before the maintenance window rather than during it.

How do you earn Halloween Pumpkin Coins?

There are two faucets, and they reset on different clocks.

Attendance is a 14-day board inside the in-game menu: open Menu → Attendance, find the Trick or Treat track, and claim the day’s coins. The notice says the board resets daily at 12:00 AM (PDT), which it also gives as 9:00 AM (CEST). One detail worth flagging: the reset line only names PDT and CEST, while the schedule line switches to PST and CET after daylight time ends. November 1, 2026 is the US changeover, so if the board keeps resetting at midnight Pacific it moves to 08:00 UTC for the last two days. The notice does not restate the reset in PST, so plan to claim before midnight Pacific rather than after.

Weekly missions live under [Season Mission] → [Event]. Each one pays coins once per week per server, and the reset is weekly rather than daily. Ten missions are listed:

Mission Objective Coins Reset
[Event] Abyss Hunt 10 monsters in Abyss 25 Weekly, per server
[Event] Transcendence Clear Transcendence Dungeon once 25 Weekly, per server
[Event] Expedition Clear Expedition Conquest once 25 Weekly, per server
[Event] Ascension Trial Clear Ascension Trial once 25 Weekly, per server
[Event] Nightmare Clear any Nightmare stage once 25 Weekly, per server
[Event] Log in Log in 3 times 30 Weekly, per server
[Event] Obtain Gear Obtain 1 piece of Unique gear 20 Weekly, per server
[Event] Use a Scroll Use 5 scrolls 20 Weekly, per server
[Event] Dimensional Invasion Join Dimensional Invasion once 20 Weekly, per server
[Event] Shugo Festival Join Shugo Festival once 20 Weekly, per server

That is 235 coins per weekly reset if you clear the board. The event window spans three weekly resets (October 13, 20 and 27), which would put the mission ceiling near 705 coins — that total is our arithmetic on the published per-week values, not a number NCSOFT prints. The attendance ceiling is easier: 620 coins, because the 14-day table is fixed.

What does the attendance track pay each day?

The board is front-loaded around two milestone days:

Day Reward Coins
Days 1–6 Halloween Pumpkin Coin (Event) 35 each (210)
Day 7 Halloween Pumpkin Coin (Event) 100
Days 8–13 Halloween Pumpkin Coin (Event) 35 each (210)
Day 14 Halloween Pumpkin Coin (Event) 100
Total 620

Everything is the same currency, so there is no wrong day to claim — the only way to lose value is to miss a day entirely. The board is 14 days long inside a 21-day window, which leaves a week of slack, but the notice describes no catch-up purchase. Treat a missed day as lost coins.

Because the board is once per server, an alt on the same world cannot run a second copy. An alt on a different server can, and the merchant limits are also per server — so if you play two worlds, the coin economy doubles.

Where is the Coin Merchant, and what does it sell?

The notice adds a Coin Merchant NPC to each town and names the faction locations:

Faction Region Towns
Elyos Verteron Dawn Legion Base / Zumion Village
Asmodian Altgard Safe Haven / Nornir Assembly

The stock is identical for both factions. Prices and limits, exactly as published:

Item Coins Limit Level
Special Halloween Chest 250 1 per server 10
Odyle Energy (Bound) 10 4 per server per week 45
Lower Abyss Rift Stone (Bound) 30 2 per server per week 45
Skin Chest (10 times) (Bound) 15 5 per server per week 10
Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound) 2 10 per server per week 10
Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) 3 7 per server per week 10
Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket (Bound) 7 3 per server per week 10
Shugo Festival Reward Key (Bound) 7 3 per server per week 10
Life Crystal (Bound) 2 20 per character 10
Halloween Candy (Bound) 2 10 per character 10
Halloween Cookie (Bound) 2 10 per character 10
Superior Power Shard (Bound) 1 No limit 10

Two level gates matter. The Odyle Energy and Lower Abyss Rift Stone rows require level 45, so a fresh character cannot convert coins into dungeon energy yet. Everything else opens at level 10, including the chest.

Is the Special Halloween Chest worth 250 coins?

Yes, if you care about cosmetics at all. It is the only item on the list you cannot get another way, it is limited to one per server, and it contains two things:

Contents Quantity
Spooky Scary Skeleton (Skin: Breastplate) (Bound) 1
Pet Soul Crystal 10,000

The skin is a breastplate slot transmog, not a stat item, and it is bound. The 10,000 Pet Soul Crystals are the practical half of the bundle — the pets guide covers what that currency buys, and 10,000 is a meaningful head start on pet growth.

At 250 coins the chest costs 40% of the 620 attendance coins, so a player who only logs in can still afford it with 370 coins left over. Add the weekly missions and the chest stops competing with anything else: two weekly resets pay for it outright.

The buff food is the other novelty. Halloween Candy gives Attack 25, Defense 250, Max Stamina 300 and 40% natural stamina regeneration for 5 minutes; Halloween Cookie gives Max HP 500, Max MP 250, Max Stamina 300 and the same 40% regeneration. Both cost 2 coins, are limited to 10 per character, and are deleted on November 3 — buy them to use, not to bank.

What are Candy Keys and Candy?

Candy Keys are a second, dungeon-fed layer of the event. Candy Key Fragments drop from Expedition and Transcendence dungeons, and the Event Substance Morph converts them:

Morph Material Success Limit
Red Candy Key (Event) 60 Candy Key Fragments 100% Once per week per server
Yellow Candy Key (Event) 60 Candy Key Fragments 100% Once per week per server
Blue Candy Key (Event) 60 Candy Key Fragments 100% Once per week per server
Superior Power Shard (Bound) x10 1 Candy Key Fragment 100% No limit

The keys open event candies placed around town. Each candy pays all of its contents at once:

Candy Contents
Red Candy Growth Pet Chest x20, Battle Enhance Scroll x10, Halloween Candy x5, Halloween Cookie x5
Yellow Candy 10,000 Abyss Points, Life Crystal x10, Halloween Candy x5, Halloween Cookie x5
Blue Candy Odyle Energy x4, Resurrection Spiritstone x10, Halloween Candy x5, Halloween Cookie x5

Blue is the progression pick (Odyle Energy is the dungeon-entry currency explained in the dungeon entry guide), Yellow is the PvP pick if you are pushing Abyss Points, and Red is the pet and enhancement pick. You can morph one of each per week, so the choice is really about which dungeons you run, not about scarcity.

Fragments that do not become keys can always become Superior Power Shards at 1 fragment per 10 shards, with no morphing limit. That is the correct sink for leftovers in the final week, because fragments are deleted on November 3.

What expires, and when?

Two deletion dates, and they are three weeks apart:

Items Deleted
Halloween Candy, Halloween Cookie, Candy Key Fragment, Red/Yellow/Blue Candy Key November 3, 2026, 11:00 PM PST / November 4, 8:00 AM CET
Special Halloween Chest, Resurrection Spiritstone, Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon, Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket, Shugo Festival Reward Key, Odyle Energy December 15, 2026, 11:00 PM PST / December 16, 8:00 AM CET

Note that the Special Halloween Chest itself expires on the December date — if you buy it and never open it, the unopened chest is removed. Open it on the day you buy it. The skin and Pet Soul Crystals inside are not on the removal list, so the contents survive.

The December date is shared with the Atreia’s Call attendance event, which also deletes Odyle Energy on December 16. If you are stacking energy from both events, the two stocks expire together.

What the notice does not state

A few questions the announcement leaves open, marked as unknown rather than guessed:

  • Whether unspent Halloween Pumpkin Coins carry over or convert. No conversion NPC or coin-to-Kina rate is listed.
  • Whether the attendance board is per character or per account. The notice says “once per server” and stops there.
  • The exact per-week purchase limit on the Candy Key morphs is stated as “once per week per server”, so one key of each colour per week is the safe reading — but the notice does not say whether that is one morph total or one per colour.
  • Whether the event returns next year. Nothing calls it annual.

None of these change the play: claim daily, clear the ten missions, buy the chest first, and spend the rest on Odyle Energy if you are level 45.

The same November 3 boundary closes the Halloween Twitch Drops campaign, which runs alongside this event but has its own claim deadline of November 17. If you still want the Chubby Panda helm from that track, the drops page has the watch-time math and the account-link check that decides whether the rewards arrive at all.
